This is such an exciting move by YouTube! 🎉 Supporting small creators is definitely the way to go. Often, these channels have so much potential but struggle to get the visibility they deserve. This feature could really level the playing field, giving a voice to those who truly have something unique to share. Once upon a time YouTube needed viewers and gave all videos an equal chance to be found. Since they have been a top entertainment platform those days are long gone. I don't like it but it makes business sense that they keep moving the goalpost for new creators. Building their worth and pushing creators to be much more unique. I've wanted to start a channel for years but figured it would be too difficult. I finally realized that's not true. A lot of content that's on YouTube is there because many people just enjoy sharing their knowledge. With that I started mine January 2024. Popular or not, I enjoy sharing. If your thinking about it, just do it. 🤘

What I would like to know is if the Hype feature will effect overall RPM value. If it doesn't influence content being pushed more by search or ranking but it could provide creators with more money (Once people can pay for Hype points) is the fact that the videos will show up on the "Hype page" effecting our overall RPM? I don't like the idea of buying hypes because if people want to donate, they can do it directly through the videos now with the dollar sign icon by sending thanks and I find that more personal to the creator. I guess we will see how this all goes down.

I like how small channels can catch up to large channels because each hype is worth more points for them.

A Tuber with 487K gets 10K Hypes, A Tuber with 587 Subs gets 3 Hypes, and Tubers with 487 Subs and under get No Hypes, Like The Current Monetization Policy, it all seems kinda one sided to me. Yeah I don't care, it's not like they're helping me and my under 87 subs.

As a small channel, I just have to keep creating and see how it grows. 500 is the next goal. Seems like more smaller channels are popping up for me to discover and those are the ones that I have really been supporting as of late. My channel is really small, only 151 subscribers, and this channel has already helped me a ton.

This new feature is really interesting. I think this could help a lot of people, but I also worry that all the people with multiple accounts will abuse this.
