Why is there a fear system when there is nothing to fear? I see no predators. Other apes apparently exist only to be adopted by your tribe. When you fall a great distance, you don't take damage. The fear system therefore seems pointless.

Will beneficial genetic mutations be handled realistically or more like Spore? For example, let's say a newborn has legs/feet that are more suitable for ground travel. They can run faster, but are no longer good at climbing. This could either be a dominant or recessive trait. If you want all future descendants to have this trait then you'll have a dire risk of inbreeding. Furthermore, if it's a recessive trait then there is very little chance that this trait will survive to benefit future generations. However, if it's like spore then we'll simply spend LEVEL UP POINTS to advance the species (silly, but casual players will be more into it).

Furthermore, IF these traits are handled realistically, then how will you handle adopting "lost" tribe members? Will they (realistically) have their own unique set of traits? Or will you opt for the easier path of "Well they have the same DNA as your own tribe"?

I think this game could be very interesting if done properly. It needs REAL dangers and threats though, like big predators (big cats, crocodiles, wolves, etc..), disease, accidents, poison, etc.. Imagine having a new tribe member that has a very beneficial trait, only to lose them in a freak accident, or maybe you even take special care to isolate them from the diseased members to keep them safe. Lots of incest could even result in severe cases of dementia being present in some descendants, which could then result in losing control of them as they attack other tribe members, run away into the wild, easier to anger, etc..

It would also be interesting to force ethical decisions on the player, like half the tribe is falling behind in beneficial mutations, and actually causing dilution and setbacks with negative traits. Do you isolate them and prevent them from breeding? Use them in risky situations and hope they die off? Or, still yet, just brutally murder them for the sake of progress? This could also be an issue when encountering other tribes. They could be inferior, and mingling might result in developmental setbacks for generations to come. Welcome them, regardless? Or go with mass genocide?

Lots of possible gray moral areas. It'll be interesting to see what they do with the game. I'm guessing it will just be a cheap Spore knockoff though.

Looks nice, but one thing...

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t this game to much into the “man came from ape” misconception?
As far as I know, humans have ancestors in common with apes, but our ancestors weren’t apes themselves. They originated apes like they originated us.
Aren’t this ancestors in the game way too similar to apes in the present day? They kinda look like chimpanzees.
