Dart, self-driving vehicle for robotic food delivery

Dart is a robotic food delivery vehicle. Our January 2020 prototype has four individually insulated compartments that can carry hot or cold food for companies such as DoorDash, Postmates, Uber Eats, Grubhub, and maybe even small packages for Amazon, Walmart, Target, CVS, and others... This is a collection of videos we recorded during development and testing. With the exception of telling the robot to “go”, all capabilities shown here are part of the self-driving software and sensor system we developed that includes various low-cost and off-the-shelf sensors coupled with our perception, object detection, object avoidance, localization, mapping, planning and control algorithms - the essential components of a full self-driving car. One of our engineers can be seen running besides the robot for the purposes of monitoring and collecting data.
