Stihl Pruner GTA 26

The new Stihl Pruner GTA 26 is pretty impressive. It has some pretty good run time, great ergonomics, and it won't break the bank! This thing would be perfect for those people that just need a pruner and may not have the strength or desire to run a pair of manual pruners.

I own one(I got the kit that has the tool, battery, charger and oil plus I purchased a spare battery) a couple of months ago and it's great for use with my Dorite 6.5HP wood chipper for cutting up branches that won't fit in the feed chute .

I've got quite a few pieces of Stihl equipment and I love it.

I used this last weekend and I absolutely was surprised on how well it performed. At 150 dollars I recommend it.

Thanks for a great informative video! Specially the part about tensioning the chain. Had not seen it explained so well anywhere else. I just bought this chainsaw and your video was very useful. Thanks again 👍🏻

You are the 3rd video I have watched following my purchase of this pruner. You are the best because you insisted on the safety when operating this pruner. I have not used mine yet. I wish you would show more of the oiling. Thank you.

My nephew got his dad one for Christmas and he loves that thing because he's using it to cut up small Limbs and such and he uses a lot of that for kindling wood in his stove. it is ideal for that because you get to cutting 2 or 3 inch stuff and up that's what they make the little Stihl MS 180 chainsaw for. And yes I have one, love it. But maybe I can convince my nephew that I am his favorite uncle cuz my birthday is coming up in June and that would make this old UnkiePappy a happy camper!
Thanks for the review and take care StayWell!

Good job demonstrating! Great tool for what it is designed for. WE now sell them at our JAX store in Broomfield Colorado!

I tried one of those and one of the Milwaukee ones I take the Milwaukee one every time because it's got better battery life and cut capacity

Bought this tool today. Would have been nice if the case would have a second pocket for a spare battery. Quality feels great.

Great review! I've got good news and bad news:

7:46 That was a thermal issue that shut it off, not the battery wearing out. When the battery is out, one led flashes green. Solid red means it is too hot or too cold to continue. It could have been drained as well too hot, but there might have been more juice left in it.

13:04 Unfortunately, I do not believe that is the case. I set up a no load test and the battery died after 18 minutes with no juice left. So no matter what you won't get over 18 minutes of run time, and once you start doing actual work that number goes to single digits (in my tests).

12:33 Might have forgotten to do it during editing, but what was the run time on your second test? I am curious to know.

Again, thanks for the video, you did a great job and I LOVE the sign in your garage!

Great review. I was looking at one last week. Have brush to clear on a very steep hillside, and I agree this looks safer. Going to go get one.

When the LED on the charger is green, it's still charging. Once the LED switches off, the battery is fully charged. Sometimes, when you stick the battery into the charger right after doing some work, the LED might turn red for a little while, this indicates that the battery is still hot from use, and it will need to cool down a bit first. It will start charging automatically once it's ready.
