I have been salmon/kahawai fishing in new zealand and i hooked a 90cm School Shark on a silver hexie lure that imitates a bait fish in a river mouth. Shark was hooked in the corner of the mouth which to me says it attacked the lure as my target species 99% of the time hook up in the jaw.

There's another shark named Deep Blue seen off the cost of Guadalupe and Hawaii that is estimated at over 20 feet and over 5000 pounds.
