Показать описание
The Tongass National Forest is the largest intact forest ecosystem in the USA, stretching 17 million acres and serving home to all 5 species of Pacific Salmon, the largest population of Black Bears in the states, and one of the highest concentrations of Bald Eagles anywhere in the world - it truly is a magical place!

The Roadless Rule protects about 9 million of those acres from development and logging, which includes 168,000 acres of productive oldgrowth forest that is the backbone of the ecological health in the area because without these forests, there are no fish, no wildlife, to tourists and no economy. While the Trump administration rolled back regulations, the Biden administration is seeking to reinstate the Roadless Rule to protect Alaskas robust fishing, tourism and recreation industrys while also providing opportunity to reinvent the timber industry in a way that actually contributes to the longterm health of these communities and lands.

There is currently a public comment period open where you can use your voice to submit a comment before Jan 24th to help protect these wild lands for generations to come.
