I understood everything Doug said. And I support him fully in blaming idiots for crap we all have to put up with.

Absolutely agree with Doug O, as a 62yo, my Dad told me, when I was a kid. " you don't know the electric fence is on until you touch it" its the only way to learn. 👍👍👍

NOCO jump pack : hit the power button then hold down the exclamation point button for "live 12 volts "

Totally agree with Doug,
And that’s why we keep a 30yr old battery charger around, lol no electronic bs

That T800 box and hoist tandem is a gorgeous truck.

Main reason for a charger to sense a minimum voltage is so the chargers will know if it’s connected correctly, positive to positive & negative to negative. Retired marine mechanic here, we had an electric boat come in one time that had a burned motor in it. We replaced the motor, turned on battery switch and the couple gauges went all hay wire. So we just figured charge battery then it could/should/might be good. When connecting our chargers it said reverse polarity, ‘whats going on here’? I put my battery tester on battery and it said reverse polarity, ‘what’? Come to find out the customer had old style charger that would charge a completely discharged battery and he put the clips on wrong, positive clip to negative & negative to positive and charged the battery backwards. So we connected a car headlight to the system to completely drain the battery, then charge up correctly. Everything good. So, if you want to charge a completely dead battery just put jumper cables from a good battery to the dead battery, then put new style charger on dead one until the charger starts throwing power to it then disconnect the cables. Note, this will not work with cables coming from a truck because the truck is putting out approximately 14 volts from the alternator so charger will read as good and not send power.

NOCO!!! Hi Guys, been watching your channel for years, love it all, but I have never commented.
Dougo... look into a NOCO jumper pack, they have a Dougo button, which tells the unit to over ride the safety features and will push current out regardless of what voltage it is seeing.
Cheers from Australia!!

In the 70s my little brother had the Radio Shack Firechief's Helmet that was like that one. He would wear it while he watched the TV show Emergency! and would have all his toy fire trucks and ambulance out to play with at the same time.

I’ve used that jumpbox before, there is a manual override setting to where even if there’s zero power in the battery you can make it send power. It’s in the owners manual.

I think the Red combines come with that adjustable spout from the factory.

I’m 100% with Dougo on the chargers, junk. I tend to hoard old chargers because of this issue. Keep up the good work y’all.

I agree with Dougo, that's junk when it has to detect power before it will work

Dougo should wear that fireman’s hat while he’s driving Martin 2.0 around the shop.

Dougo is right about the new chargers. My 2014 heavy duty charger/booster died so I replaced it with a new and improved one. Ya! Found out the first time it was used about not working on a dead battery. It now has a small lawn mower battery (used one I had kept) with jumper cables attached. If you hook up to a dead battery and it isn't charging, attached the jumpers from the small bat to charger clamps and the charger starts charging. Sometimes you can remove the small bat jumpers immediately and the main charger will continue other times you have to leave it connected for a while before the main charger will read enough voltage to continue.

Thanks for another great video Chet and crew. It was interesting and enjoyable to watch.

Hey Dougo. I believe there is an override button on that charger that will let you use it without any power. Or you hold the switch down to put it in override mode. It is one of those. The owners manual will tell you.
Just trying to help, not bossing you around.

Sorry your truck did not sell BUT am glad it did not and you still have it. That is such a nice truck. Keep

Like the adjustable spout you put on Brody’s combine. That will be most helpful. Neat piece of equipment. Nice work.

Sorry someone took up two hours of your time. Sounds like they used the truck as a way to get to the farm. People need to just leave you folks alone so you can do your work.

Like the fireman hat. Neat. That might be a toy collector item. Hold onto it.

About it I guess. You all take care and be safe. Thanks for everything Chet.

I understood everything Doug said, as a former mechanic, I have seen batteries without voltage be low or out of coolant from cracked cases. or be shorted. I have seen luckily not in person batteries explode from them, and batteries catch on fire from them. a lot of the fancy electronic ones have sensors and programing to react to certain conditions to prevent risks.

With those Jumper packs there is an ! point / override button if you power it on then hold it down for a few seconds the lights will start flashing and it will work with completely dead batteries. The reason it has that safety is if you accidently touch the red and back together or hook them up backwards with the new lithium battery packs it can either catch fire violently or explode
