When they think they are safe and nothing is likely to happen, they don't want them. But flip the script, and other nations show just how aggressive they are willing to be, and then those weapons become wanted and even seen as necessary.
It's an amazing snapshot of the human psyche and how it perceives danger.

Anyone who’s against it clearly doesn’t understand the idea of deterrence.

Germany is a member of NATO and having U.S. weapons (nuclear or otherwise) strategically positioned closer to NATO enemies (ex: Russia) instead of all being kept in the United States helps deter an attack against Germany and all of the other European NATO member countries.

And for those who still don’t understand, I hope the day you learn the hard way never comes.

Es spielt keine Rolle ob sie in Deutschland stationiert sind oder nicht. Sollte es in einem Krieg zum Einsatz von Nuklearwaffen kommen sind wir alle betroffen. Egal auf welchem Kontinent sie eingesetzt werden, der Fallout macht an keiner Landesgrenze halt ( siehe Tschernobyl) ob für oder gegen den Einsatz oder Stationierung. Käme es zu einem Einsatz, ist auch derjenige betroffen, der sie zum Einsatz gebracht hat. Die Wirkung der Abschreckung für den "Gegner " ist lange schon verloren gegangen.
