Helping her creating the song is one of the wholesomest moments in the game.

Alfira not being an actual camp companion or party member is a crime against gaming

Alfira asked to join the camp on my Dark Urge playthrough, I can't wait to hear this beautiful song in camp

"I really liked that I was able to help Alfira write Weeping Dawn, AND now she has joined my own personal struggle in getting rid of this tadpole. Oh boy I can't wait until tomorrow!"

- my Dark Urge character thinking just before going to sleep

I love BG3’s portrayal of Tieflings. Players and DMs often just treat them as the “edgy” choice, but here they’re humanised in a way that really brings out the tragedy of their race. Sure, they look like devils straight from the Nine Hells, but they’re just people - they love and fight, they eat food and tell stories, they mourn lost loved ones and regret missed opportunities just like everyone else. This is the song of a young bard mourning the loss of her teacher and fearing that she’ll never live up to her - the fact that she has horns and a tail is the least important part of her character.

You know this song is amazing when it can even make Lae'zel crack a smile.

I didn't play Early Access and avoided all spoilers until release. Today is the first time I met Alfira. This song hit me SO hard. Bravo. I can't even express how deeply this one hits.

Dance upon the stars tonight
Smile and pain will fade away
Words of mine will turn to ash
When you call the last light down

Moon reminds me of your grace
All the love I can't repay
Rest and know that I will pray
Farewell my dear old friend

Moon, sun, all remind me of your grace
Faith. Care. All the love I can't repay
Moon, sun, all remind me of your grace
Faith. Care. All the love I can't repay

Dance upon the stars tonight
Smile and pain will fade away
Words of mine will turn to ash
When you call the last light down

Moon reminds me of your grace
All the love I can't repay
Rest and know that I will pray
Farewell my dear old friend

Dance upon the stars tonight
Smile and pain will fade away

Not since Priscilla sang The Wolven Storm in the Witcher 3 have I been so enthralled by a song in game. God this game is a freaking masterpiece.

I found her right after nearly getting complete TKO from a bunch of harpies. My entire party was covered in blood while she performed. The song was such a welcome respite. It was amazing. Later on I was just ecstatic when she joined the camp and wanted to adventure with you. I would get to hear more songs throughout my campaign.

I was playing the dark

My mother passed away in 2011 from colon cancer at the age of 39. Over a decade has went by since her death, and many, many video games I've placed since. None, game or music, have ever with such precision encompassed how I felt about my mother. Growing up, she was supportive of my decisions, including my love of gaming. Thank you for this masterpiece and thank you for finally putting to words my feelings about her, even when I was unable to do so myself.

How I wish Alfira was a playable character like Halsin. Perfect bard companion. Beautiful song as well.

Can you believe that if you talk to some squirrels next to Alfira with "Speak with Animals", they have the nerve to complain about this song?! The gall!

Bards are my favorite class, and this game does them so much justice. From counter song with the harpies, helping the bard write this song, and simply jamming in the middle of combat. I am quite happy.

Crazy to think some people in the game just won't come across this quest/song. What a beautiful masterpiece. Thank you, Borislav!

My teacher from music school has died two days ago, and I couldn't stop crying. So at one moment yesterday evening this song has started playing in my YT recommendations, and... I can't put into words how much it helped me. Thank you, Borislav. This is pure masterpiece.

When I ran into this song in the game, I was struck so hard by it. The dialogue and choices that led to the song, the scene that played out alongside the song. I almost missed it, I was about to leave the area and noticed someone off to the side I hadn’t talked to. This game really is special, for that much care put into something easily missable.

I stumbled unto this song during my EA playthrough by accident and it was pure magic. One of the best gaming moments ever

My first playthrough I smashed her lute because I thought it would be funny. It led to a recurring joke where I would roleplay my paladin as deeply resentful of all music, but I never got to hear the song.

My second playthrough was as a Dark Urge bard. Up until the encounter with Alfira I didn't really know what direction to take him. I would usually heed the urge, mostly out of curiosity, because it was the only piece of identity he could cling to. Jamming together with Alfira was the first time I really had him show any kind of humanity, like the power of music dredged up some distant love buried underneath the bloodlust. When she came to my camp I was excited for more interactions with her in the future.

The next morning broke my heart, man. My poor bard's one glimmer of hope, disemboweled by his own hand. It seemed like he would never be free of the urge, and I decided he would throw himself at the mercy of the only other one who, until then, had promised him a place in the world. So he went straight to the goblin camp, proclaimed himself a True Soul, and took on the brand of the Absolute.

And that's how my evil playthrough started.
