I pay because I support the game and it's company. Because it's one of the rare games where I love the devs doing their job. I mean sure. Some decision making doesn't come my way but I get it they can't make it right for everyone and on that note? I'm good with them.
Imagine no one would use the shop. The game wouldn't be around for long.

I'm the perfect player to add to this discussion. I started playing warframe just 6 months ago and started hard grinding the game (the 'currently MR 27' type of hard grinding). I was sponsored about 100 Plat by a friend at the start for a few more warframe slots but after that, I was totally F2P without any help. All the Plat I got afterwards came from trading and if you know what people like to buy, you can game the market to your advantage. I don't really care about rivens for example and sell all my melee and rifle rivens from sorties for 30 Plat each. People will buy neo relics at a decent rate too and they are surprisingly easy to farm. I'm not very good at keeping the Plat I make so I only have about 200 on me right now but I've bought enough warframe slots for every warframe in the game and enough weapon slots for every meta weapon in the game (as well as some cosmetics ^_^).

In conclusion, yes I believe you can thrive as a F2P player as long as you're willing to learn the market and make aggressive trades with other players.

Warframe is not pay to win at all.

Pay to get the good stuff faster, sure. However, since what weapons and style of play a person uses varies wildly from one person to another, the concept of pay to win simply doesn't apply. That and there's no pvp worth mentioning, so no real competition between players. I've played for 6 years, have all primed frames/weapons tons of cosmetics and have paid precisely $0.00. I still had my new player starter pack offer last I checked right before the new war.

It’s definitely more a pay for convenience instead of pay to win. And even then it’s not super expensive if your willing to grind for stuff. You can find every thing in the game without spending a dime, and to have a slot for everyone item in the game, you would need a bit over 5000 platinum, which isn’t really all that much. $250 or a few weeks of good trading and your set. And that’s if you want the mk1, standard, prisma, prime, etc version of every weapon, frame, and companion, which, realistically, you don’t unless you really like collecting everything.

Think the title is a bit misleading. There's no real "winning" when you pay for it all. Even if you're an MR2 fresh player and buy every single *basic* weapon and warframe and all the necramech/archwing stuff, you're still MR2. You've just skipped the grind for the weapons and frames themselves. Not the mods, not the star chart, not the leveling of each of them. You've just made it so you can probably hit MR30 by the time you're finishing up New War.

And that's not even thebest bit, because you'd have to just dump plat to outright buy from other players all the prime gear that currently is out and that's MR locked.

And even if you somehow buy all these, it doesn't make you better or give you an edge or advantage over someone at your same MR. Content isn't so drastic that a basic player with Excal and a Braton can't clear out all the way to MR8.

It's weird that a collection game has limited weapon/Warframe slots that you gotta pay for, Riven slot pricing is the more attrocious one 60 plat. Time gates makes sense but I think they need to make Catalyst blueprints needs to be more widely accessible like Forma, because imo it's not optional premium thing and you just need it for about everything. Warframe isn't pay to win but it pay for convenience, you can probably play trough the entire Star Chart with your base Excalibur, Volt or Mag if you really want.

Imo the only thing that was annoying was not having enough warframe slots. And trading isnt as great as it used to be, but I suppose that is inevitable

I'm not sure if this entire video is ironic or if you just don't know what the terms you are using mean. You said several times that "this is definitely p2w". But p2w means that by spending your money you get something that makes you better at the game. And other players can't get it for free. A good example is, for example, mmorpg, in which you buy some items to upgrade weapons to levels unattainable by other players. Or destiny 2 where each new dlc adds new weapons that cannot be accessed by people who play without paid dlc.
But in warframe, you can't buy anything that makes you better in the game, and the regular player doesn't have access to that. You can only pay to get something faster.
You also said about slots. I heard it right? Hundreds of dollars to feel comfortable?
With no discounts, 1000 platinum costs $ 50. For these 1000 platinum you can buy 50 warframe slots. And there are 49 frames in the game. And excalibur umbra gives you 1 free slot. Not to mention that about once every six months (or a year) you can get a frame with a slot via twitch. In addition, there is a radio with slots in prizes. Plus, being comfortable doesn't require having everything. For the frames themselves. I do not main any frama. I use the ones that are best for the type of mission. Because of this, I actually use less than 20.
Weapon slots come in packs of 2. And for ... let's say 500 platinum went to the frame. For 500 platinum you can buy 82 weapon slots. There are hundreds of weapons, but again. You won't be using them all. Me, a long-time veteran, with over 2000 hours in the missions only and about 5k in the game. I only have ... 82 slots. But if I had removed all the weapons I would NEVER use again, I would have been left with 20-30.

No aspect of the game is p2w. And what you labeled a scam is rather a relic of old times that no one has made any order with. Nobody has ever bought raw materials in the market. Neither endo.

To say in any context that Warframe is p2w is not only harmful, it is also outright lie.

You cant buy some the best weapons like kuva/tenet which their power compared to normal/shop cannot be denied and quest related weapons like the nataruk, umbra also cannot be bought, so while you may pay for good things, some of the best things can only be earned
