Thousands gather in Arizona for final farewell to John McCain

Thousands gathered at the Arizona State Capitol to pay their final respects to Senator John McCain. After a memorial service Thursday, the senator's casket will be flown to Joint Base Andrews and he will lie in state in Washington, D.C. CBS News chief congressional correspondent Nancy Cordes joined CBSN to discuss the outpouring of community support for McCain and his family.

I voted for John McCain in 2008. I was 19 and it was my first time voting so did a little research and decided on voting for a veteran.
I’m Mexican American and I refuse to vote for someone simply bc of the color of his skin(Obama), over their accomplishments.. like (from what I witnessed personally) the majority of people did.
I couldn’t admit to it, couldn’t have a civil conversation with anyone who didn’t agree with me, was called racist, people told me I hated my own people.
I refused to speak politics with anyone for a long time.
i skipped voting on Obama’s second term, bc i knew it was pointless.

I honestly never liked the man McCain, YES! He fought for our country ... Many Americans Did The Same And Are NEVER Recognized!
30 yrs in the Senate, accomplished NOTHING, for his constituents nor for our nation. Yet he dreamed of eulogies, delivered by rivals and friends with whom he could barely say a kind word, let alone a nice gesture. He auctioned off, his respected heroic image, a man of courage and endurance but morphed into a self-centered, patriot whose reward was temporary adoration from liberals using him to attack his own Rep party when convenient. Whatever demons possessed McCain hopefully better instincts will search for a different host to fill his position. God forbid that to be his left behind parting wife.
