I was lonely because my family didn’t come with me, but there were a lot of good things about living in London. There were many jobs with good pay.
I got my first job in an Italian restaurant. Now, I have my own restaurant, and I work there with my wife and children. My daughter’s English is very good, so she speaks to the customers. I am a chef, and my wife is a waitress. We all work very hard.
I have good children. They love living in London, but they are still Italian in their hearts. My wife and I plan to return to Italy, but our children plan to stay here. They have many good opportunities here. They can always visit when they miss us.

My name is Sam Johnson. I’m from England, but I live in Tokyo. In Japan, there were many opportunities for English people to teach English, so I came here two years ago. I teach English at a large Japanese university in Tokyo, and I really like my job. I don’t work during the summer, so I usually go back to England to visit my family. I came to Japan alone, so I was lonely because my family and friends were in England. I can speak Japanese well, but my listening is still weak. I can read some signs in train stations and menus in restaurants. I enjoy living in Japan now, and I want to live here for a long time.
