How to read the day / night time (Economy) rates for a SMETS2 smart meter. This function will only work if you are with an Electricity company that is providing you with a tariff that has two rates (i.e day and night - The night usually being a cheaper rate than the day). This smart meter should send the readings automatically to your supplier. However, like all tech, it doesn’t always do this and therefore you have the option to manually record and send your meter usage directly, as a back up, should you need it.
