Three things to know about HID Ballast Repairs

* If the headlight assembly shows any sign of damage (including water or dirt intrusion), replace the entire assembly before replacing the ballast.

*For collisions and burned out ballasts, make sure proper voltages and grounds are present at the new ballast. Low voltage or a weak ground will damage the new unit.

* Don't touch the HID bulb. Due to the bulb's high operating temperature, oil from fingers can cause damage. If touched, remove the oil using rubbing alcohol.
