If you struggle extending the fingers, just try to learn the first part of master of puppets fast solo, easy as crap and it's just speed plus a big stretch so it will help

YouTube reading my mind as I'm currently learning this solo. I've found once you get this part down, it's actually one of the easiest sections of the solo. The part that comes after is a nightmare. Also mimicking Marty's bends and vibratos😅

It always comes funny as a bass player that guitar players (some of them) can play as fast as fuck and play this solo but having a hard time while streching from 10th to 15th fret on guitar which is shorter than bass
