How to replace Hood Release Latch 2005 Grand Caravan / Town and Country

How to replace the interior hood release handle / latch for a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan / Chrysler Town and Country. This method should work on other year models as long as the hood latch release mechanism is the same. This video only describes how to replace the plastic interior hood release handle / latch. This video does not describe how to replace the latching mechanism under the hood nor does it describe how to replace the hood release cable itself.

Thank you for posting this video mine is a 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan but the parts manual says it does take the same part that you just put on. The problem that I'm having is that little metal toggle piece that you showed fishing through there on mine the wire is so stripped that all there is is three little baby wires all of the rest of them that are attached to that metal toggle piece have all broken off by people using pliers to try to open the hood my question is because I don't have anything to work with can I take some of the excess cat cable that's underneath and pull that through so I can have more of the regular thing or because that would distort that metal toggle piece do I just have to start over and get a brand new hood release wire and fish it all the way through from the hood?
