'The Day of the Lord” (Tim Mackie, NT Wright & Jon Collins)

I am constantly saying
"The Beginning is Near."

Why...
multiple reasons
1st- “Genesis” is near within the text.
… as I’m searching through scripture the melody of Genesis is always near.

2nd- to say the “Begining” is near is also to point to the hope and joy that awaits the future of the cosmos because of Jesus. Resurrection, the ultimate union of heaven and earth, the new Jerusalem and what happens after the day of the lord have been skewed by so many Christians to be the “END” of all things.
Tim LaHaye, all of the doom and gloom Armageddon stuff, and so much more really put a hamper on my early belief and study of the Bible.
“the beginning“ is near stands against that mindset and focuses in on the hope of resurrection and new creation.

After 3 years of reading NT Wright books, and Richard Middleton’s book on New Heaven’s and Earth and listening to the Bible Project Podcasts I finally got comfortable enough to share these views with my friends. Every single one of them shunned me for this. It has caused me to be very lonely because they’ve all blocked me so I’m pretty confused because it’s such good teaching. But I don’t really blame them either because they’re just defending their positions which is okay. Anyway great content here. Carmen Imes, Mike Heiser, the Bible Project and NT Wright.. they’ve opened my heart to the Word in ways I never thought possible. Thanks for this too!

Brothers ans sisters, the Lord showed an extraordinary vision, regarding the DAY OF THE LORD. I was telling someone the heaven and the earth will come together and there will be a new earth like the garden of eden and we go there. The other person said, we’ll just for a thousand years and then we go to heaven. I didn’t think that was right. I was thinking God is creating a new earth for us the renewed humans . They did not agree with that. I mean why would God create a new earth and not put humans on it?

I take classroom online with Tim Mackie and Tim brings up a lot of other authors as well . Bible project podcasts is good as well. It’s a new paradigm now that’s coming out. God interference with cosmology. Its like the old teaching was good but not enough. Good stuff.

I know this is a discussion on logistics. Plain and simple, Heaven is where Jesus is.

I think interpreting prophecy is hard and is only meant to make sense in retrospect. Everyone has an opinion and they might all be wrong. I’m reminded that the Pharisees really and sincerely thought they KNEW what Messiah would be like. They were so convinced that they missed Him. So it is good to familiarize yourself with the scripture-hey, maybe even memorize it. But keep an open heart when looking at current events through the lens of scripture. And keep other scripture in mind as well. Scripture interprets scripture. Love is what characterizes His believers. Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. Love one another and you will be ready on the Day of the Lord.

DOTL - Hebrew and Greek Exact Phrase Verses
There have been so many claims, points, doctrines, positions expressed on the Day of the Lord, I thought it would be good to even test my own position against what the verses that expressly stated DOTL in the Hebrew and Greek.

I will admit a couple of my thoughts went down the drain. While no damage to my overall beliefs on the issue, there was change.

I used the Interlinear to search out the Hebrew and Greek. In the Hebrew the term DOTL is "hwhy ewy" and in the Greek is "hmera kuriou" as used in the Interlinear data base. These are the verses where the exact term DOTL is used:

Isaiah 13: 6
Joel 1: 15
Joel 3: 14
Amos 5: 18
Amos 5: 20
Zephaniah 1: 7
Zephaniah 1: 14
Malachi 4: 15
1 Thessalonians 5: 2
2 Peter 3: 10

The end times is only the finish of day 7 of creation, which has been about letting souls' creations in the physical realms drive the segregation of souls into the spiritual realms they deserve.
