Step by Step Guide for FOOL-PROOF Live Streaming in 2020!

Unfortunately, a lot of these are selling out fast, especially the budget options. Below are alternatives some of which cost more, others that need drivers. If you really NEED a USB capture device I would not wait and buy one while you can unless you can wait a few months for stock to come back in.. Sorry!

All links below to AMAZON:

Here are in stock options at B&H:

My video on a $98 shotgun mic audio kit with stand:

Cheapest light kit (for small home use only) comes with 2, can use with batteries but has power adapters and stands

Cheap light kit (can work at a distance but not ultra-bright)

Gigh-quality lights that will last and are much brighter (these are what I use)

In this video, I show you step by step how to Live-stream on Facebook, youtube, and other platforms very easily for very little money while having a reliable system with good quality audio and video.

Best explanation & recommendation on YouTube hands down. With the HDMI and line audio inputs, this will work with almost any camera and any audio set up (e.g. mixer) You rock Max!

This is a great video Max. One detail that I consider significant. The HDMI device that you are suggesting to switch inexpensively between input signals is called an HDMI Switch. You call it a splitter. Your link is to the right device, but it will confuse people who might try looking for such a device on their own. A splitter will take 1 HDMI signal and split it out into multiple others.

Max, what is that fancy-looking camera in the cage you demo with? It looks like it's sporting a Panasonic lens—G9? Love and liked the video, too: very clear.

Hey, thanks for a great video. I'm thinking of doing a livestream of piano performance. Do you know if there is such a device like this that has two XLR's built in for a superior stereo sound, with video too? (probably doesn't exist!) Something that would guarantee a better sync. Otherwise I do have a tascam dr70 (I think) Which I'm hoping will work but I'm scared of the out of sync thing happening.

Wow, exactly what I wanted to know. I've seen so many videos on a higher level with a lot of equipment but none with entry level. Great job, when I start I'll keep this video in mind. A great place to start.

Best video on the topic so far. Starting to see my clients from home and also streaming lectures and having support groups so this was infinitely valuable

Very nice video. Very informative. Have you used and/or reviewed Picomic wireless mic system. I have seen a few reviews about it and it looks/sounds awesome. They are great, but they are a bit on the expensive side. Can you give some recommendations regarding any other more budget options. Other than Boya WM-4 and WM-8, because their sound quality is not good. Rode Go are very good, but are also on the expensive side, although less expensive than Picomic.

Max you are AWESOME! Can you clarify and help? We got the Pengo and it’s fantastic. Really well-made and works great. We also got the switcher that you recommend, the Totu. The only problem we have is that when we use two cameras the way you describe and switch from one camera to the other with the switcher, there is a delay of about 1 1/2 seconds — and the camera that we are switching from freezes for that time, so instead of video when switching, we get a still shot of the last video image that lasts until the next camera comes in with the switcher. When we use the switcher to move from one camera to the other this happens. So, for livestreaming that presents a problem. Is there a way, using the 2 camera and Totu setup that you described, to eliminate the frozen image when switching between one camera and the next? We are using 2 Sony a6500 DSLR cameras, Studio 6 software, and a brand new MacBook Pro. Thanks so much! 👊🙌
