I actually didn't know it was a guitar nor that it was sped-up until now!

There's a powerful, ineffable emotionality to this solo. It really stops me every time I hear it, and even once when I wasn't aware the song was playing. Like having goosebumps but just that kinda whacky sad feeling - without or without the bumps..

The funny thing is that it runs against the song's vibe, which at least to me is almost carnivalesque, a very English throwback to the 'weird old days'. It's my favourite single part of any Beatles song in their entire catalogue I think. It's a real testament to the quality of their musicianship that this is almost mixed into the song's backdrop.

I'm amazed you've isolated this soundbite from the song - and super grateful - thank you, you're great - and this is a public service :)

Here's what I'm hearing:
The note is played with the volume up but muted then quickly played again unmuted with the volume all the way down then quickly faded up. This whole process is repeated for each note.

Did they record this segment at a lower speed and bring it up to the speed we hear on the record?
