ADHD, I am overly observant and oblivious, all atvthe same time. This has lead to getting myself into numerous embarrassing situations.

I have ADHD, and one day, I was scrolling through yt shorts, and there was this riddle:
'I have keys, but no locks. I have space but no room. You can enter, but you can't leave'
The answer was keyboard, but I thought it was Universe, because keys= answers to all of the questions asked by people
Space= basically all of the galaxies, stars, black holes and etc.
'You can enter, but you can't leave'= you are basically born into a place which you will never leave

I like it so much better when you actually narrate the videos instead of having to read those boxes on time (and rewind :))

The amount of times I'll go through mental gymnastics to solve a problem at work, just for my lead to go "You're thinkin' too hard, Hun", and solve the issue in one quick easy action

I found that explaining a problem to a coworker or friend often led to me finding a solution to it mid-conversation.

When i get ideas mid conversation its extremely difficult not to interrupt. I don't want to loose the idea, so im concentrating the idea instead of the conversation. Having a conversation with another ADHD person is hilariously frustrating. 5 diagnosis in family 😂😂😂😂😂

This is also why i im really good at spotting people's lies. They'll say something and I'll be like bitch that completely contradicts what you told me eleven months and twelve days ago at 3:45 pm

I hate how the average person thinks observant skills are strange.

Group thinking is just leading to frustration. Super powers are individually and people are naturally unique.

I’m always seeing patterns and when problem solving am at least ten steps ahead of everyone with what will and what will not work and possible work around which ALWAYS pusses everyone off and then I wind up getting ignored!!

Is there also a superpower that allows you to find people who appreciate and understand this without simply just cutting you off? Heh

I'm tossing this in the bin of "uneducated observation of ADHD people by an admittedly-smart person that doesn't have ADHD".

ADHD actually makes simultaneous cognitive threads extremely difficult due to poor "working memory".

However, when you compare how people *adapt* to having poor working memory (by getting faster at processing sequential cognitive threads) with another ADHD symptom, "dopamine chasing"... These two combined leads people with ADHD to be able to dive down an exciting (read: dopamine-inducing) "thought experiment" rabbit-hole on a subject and reach a conclusion very quickly, which often yields those "outside the box" ideas.

The catch is most people with ADHD can only do one task at a time: Listen to the conversation, dive down a fun rabbit hole, listen to the TV in the background, etc. And switching from the conversation to the rabbit-hole often means losing track of the conversation, leading to the ADHD person needing to ask others to repeat themselves...

Or, more often, the ADHD person pretends they didn't forget, which can only be done if you learn to be *extremely* good at "cold-reading" the other people... But I'm getting off track. Any guesses on if I have ADHD?
