How to set mic gain levels for vocal recording using an apollo and console app. My Slate ML1 Microphone connects to my Apollo X8 using an XLR cable then i use the controls on my interface to choose the correct input and gain settings for recording singing rapping speech or any instrument. Seasoned engineer here! One thing I never see anyone talk about is immediate playback. Yes, the sauce is being monitored, but when the artist needs immediate playback, they want to hear the same thing. A video explain that might be useful for the folks new to UAD. Just a thought. Peace!

Hey Reid, quick question about your UAD Console interface: How did you set it up to get 8 Inserts on your Analog 1 Track? I only have 4 Inputs and I don't find an option to increase it. Thank you!

UAD recommends hitting -20db - -18db on mic input (after unison slot) btw, this is what their plugins and converters are set to.
