the Nike Pegasus Trail 3 gore-tex is my favorite shoe to hike in when I don't need my hiking boots. the gore-tex layer keeps my feet dry, the gaiter keeps my socks and inside my shoe dry as well. The traction is like no other shoe I have worn, keeps me from sliding on the trails, whether hiking uphill or down. These shoes are super lightweight and the cushions in the soles help your feet not to get sore after miles and miles of hiking.

**If you are hiking in the desert, you will not need a gore-tex shoe like this. Nike has this trail shoe that is not waterproof or gore-tex and is very breathable. You want a shoe like that if you know you won't be caught in the rain or walking through water. **
