What I learned from this video is that Rick named his kids after musicians and titles of rock songs.

I find hilarious that this bothered Rick so much that he asked multiple people on different days.

What's weird is I would think being out of tune would bother Dylan more than anyone.

Out of tune is out of tune, regardless of the song. I’m with you, Rick!

It’s a musician thing. Many times my mates and I have watched bands and one of them plays a bum note. Those of us that play look at each other with a knowing smile (or a wince if it’s a clanger), and the rest of the audience is oblivious. And no, we don’t have to know the song, you can just hear it. And then there are the other mistakes that shouldn’t work, but they do. And that’s why we love music.

maybe they think that "tune" is about the song, not the frequency of the string

I had a band director in high school who would feign weeping. He'd say something like "your playing has brought me to tears. Now do it again, but this time try to play in tune."
RIP Mr. Henley NPHS.

It took me a long time to realize not everyone knows the same things I know. You are ridiculously talented and just know what chords should sound like. Most people can tell something is off if they've heard it a lot. For example there are so many Beatles recordings that some of the sound waaay off to me just because it's not exactly what was on the album.

That’s like saying “Isn’t this food too salty?” And someone saying “I don’t know, I’ve never had this meal before.” - You really can’t tell if there’s too much salt in this?

Hey, drop G is very underrated on the 5th string...

As a violinist i find that hilarious 😂 those who arent musically trained often cant tell certain things that we musicians find obvious

I once saw a guy CHANGE a string during a performance without missing a beat. Making a small tuning adjustment while playing is a worthwhile skill.

This is what politicians have been doing to the people for years

Those of us who are musically inclined sometimes forget that what we recognize as basic is quite advanced for everyone else.

Yep... I can tell. I can hear when a drummer never hits his snare in the same general area. It's a 'blessing' and a 'curse.'

The way he asked several times and received the same answer is like Curb Your Enthusiasm 😂😂. We feel your pain though!

Art as a complete whole speaks to people way more than the technicalities that construct the art

It’s definitely a musician thing. When I am playing, I am extremely critical of myself and often think I suck.

I find this odd too. I can usually hear right away when something is off, even if I don’t know the song. Even if you don’t know what notes come next, the wrong one is almost always obvious.

There’s absolutely no way this isn’t an inside joke by Rick’s family to mess with him.
