Ahmaud Arbery trial today | Medical examiner speaks on Arbery's death

Ahmaud Arbery was shot and killed on Feb. 23, 2020. Three men face murder charges in a trial in southeast Georgia. The trial is on Day 8 as of Nov.16. On Nov. 16, the state called its first witness of the day, Dr. Edmond R. Donoghue, medical examiner, to the stand. Donoghue performed Arbery's autopsy. Here's what he had to say about it.

Ahmaud Arbery was shot and killed on Feb. 23, 2020. Cellphone video leaked to the public shows two armed white men in a truck approaching the 25-year-old Black man as he runs down the road. One of the men, later identified as Travis McMichael, and Arbery struggle over McMichael's shotgun before Arbery is shot and collapses.

Travis McMichael, his father Gregory McMichael and William "Roddy" Bryan, who recorded the video, are all charged with murder in Arbery's death.

These killers need to get the death penalty! So all three shotgun shots were fatal to Arbery. They really meant to kill him not do a citizen arrest. This is straight murder!

Citizens arrests should be illegal. This is Trayvon Martin all over again.

If an armed citizen pursues a so-called suspect, and the so-suspect resists, (as most people would when being kidnapped, ) does that give the citizen the right to murder the so-called suspect?

I thought a legal citizens arrest could only take place if the suspect was caught in the act of a felony crime, which is not what happened in this case.

As an officer once I got the McMicheal’s address, I would have immediately questioned the validity of the self defense claim. I wouldn’t care if you were the President. Miles from home, in a vehicle, armed with multiple weapons, and had just shot an unarmed man, you’re getting arrested.

This testimony was crucial for the State, The medical examiner did an amazing job and i think the facts speak for itself. This young man was shot numerous times and nothing shows this young man tried to take the weapon or struggle with them.

I’d like to understand just how a citizen’s arrest is supposed to go. Because if this is a legitimate C.A, it needs to be banned. This is sad for everybody involved…we still have such a long way to go pertaining to racism. Pray justice is served.

This could have been avoided if the mcmicheal did not arm themselves knowing well arbery was not armed. But they use the weapon to shoot because arbery is black n there were many previous cases where blacks were killed without justice being served. Thanks to Bryan who provided the video of how actually it happened. Otherwise cover up could be taken as the truth. Even that the mcmicheal have tried to cover up with the help of those in earlier investigation.
