On solving x= (√5-1)/2> 0 n
1/x = (√5+1)/2
? = {X+(1/x)}^2-2= 5- 2= 3

I think that only the author of such an equation can solve it since the keys to reasoning are almost undetectable except for the one who imagined them. I found the right answer (=3) with a master key.

x³ = √5 - 2 => x² + 1/x² = ?

x³ = √5 - 2

x = ³√(√5 - 2)

x = 0.618034

if x = 0.618034 then

x² + 1/x² = 0.618034² + 1/0.618034²

x² + 1/x² = 3

■ final answer: x² + 1/x² = 3
