As a Canes fan I obviously love the Aho contract but in terms of Tony D, I'm excited. He's got his issues but when he was with us our power play was actually good for once. Burns is obviously going to run our PP1 but we struggled the whole last season finding someone to quarterback the PP2. That's where TDA comes in, I think keeping him in a sheltered role on a 3rd pairing (2nd pairing for injuries) while having him run the PP2 will be a boon for our special teams. He only set a franchise record the last time he was in charge of that.

Fantastic deal for Canes. Aho’s one of the best 2-way C in the league and with the cap going up by up to 10 mil next two seasons the AAV won’t hurt the team.

I honestly love the Aho contract I'm a canes fan and he's one of my favorite players. Even if he went to the Rangers (who I very much hate) no offence Eck it's just divisonal rivalry stuff. I would still be his supporter I really wanna see him lift the cup and this deal is honestly really near to what I predicted so I love the deal for both side's. After Staal is done with his career I really wanna see him with the 'C' he is captain material in my opinion. He's also amazing when it comes to the playoff's and with Bergeron gone he's arguably the best PKer in the league. He's also one of Rod the Bod's favorite players on the canes and he's an essential part to the canes so keeping him for 8 years is a huge W for the canes

Takes me back to when the Leafs played a preseason game in Kitchener, ON (against the Nords, maybe) but just as the teams started warming up a bird flew into a power line, blew a transformer, and The Aud lost power. Wendel Clark hopped the boards for a quick sprint. Mike Foligno somehow got the public address microphone to sing the first few lines That's Amore before they cut his mic. Probably my second favourite memory associated with preseason Maple Leaf hockey in K-town.
