Mushroom Hunting

My parents and I were hunting the Cranberry Junction when I was 5 to 8 for pine mushrooms, I did not realize how valuable all that knowledge is and how much demand there is for it!

Last year my husband leaked a little oil from his motorcycle on the cement and it leaked over into my little garden area. Well, I watched the video titled " Five Ways Mushrooms can Save The World" at Ted Talks. So I had a mixed pack of edible organic mushrooms that were a little old, and I threw them out there. Wow! I was amazed! They cleaned up the oil from the soil and some old grape seed I threw out, some months before, all the sudden started growing like crazy, as well as other plants. : )

I am hoping I can ask about what I think is a mushroom in my yard...about what it is, why it showed up and if it is unusual.
