Today, Vini from our Epsom store is taking an in-depth look at the new Epiphone Inspired by Gibson ES-339 in Pelham Blue. Gorgeous ain't it?

Epiphone's "Inspired by Gibson" ES-339 is designed for those seeking the tone and look of an ES-335, but in a slightly smaller, lighter instrument. The hand-rolled C-shaped mahogany neck reminds players where it all started...

This Epiphone ES-339 in Pelham Blue sounds just as spectacular as it looks. With a pair of Epiphone Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers, this beaut has that classic versatile ES tone that players have craved for over 60 years. The tuning stability and precise intonation are provided by the Graph Tech NuBone nut, Grover Rotomatic tuners, while Epiphone's exclusive LockTone bridge and tailpiece add more sustain to your tone.

Dive into our review and let us know what you think about this new release in the comments.

What a great review man seriously. Just the right amount of info combined with a few different sounds. Straightforward and to the point. Gave us everything we need and nothing we don’t. I just wanted to give credit 👏

Bought from you today. General consensus from your customers was it sounds fantastic. So Pelham blue it was. Thanks Epsom for your service.

I really hope Epiphone is doing something with their quality control procedures. I bought a 2017 339 and it came with big QC issues, specially in its setup. Epiphone is very famous for this. It is indeed a really good guitar and the smaller body very nice to play but it lacks that hollow Woody sound expected from this type of guitars (if that’s what your are looking for). Not sure what major updates this 2020s have in comparison with the previous but the graphite nut is definitely a good improvement.

You stated that the "new" Gibson is essentially "giving people what they want". If that was REALLY true, then they wouldn't charge so DAMN MUCH for their guitars... period! On another note, I own the Epi ES-339 Pro in Cherry, really awesome guitar!

So how does it compare to the PRO version, apart from the coil split? The pu's are the same?

I bought mine over the Gibson and I had money left over! I'll never get rid of it until I die!

I've had this thing for around 5 years, and while I have 3 guitars that I really like, this is the only guitar that I know that no matter how much money I'd have for buying a new guitar, I'm not gonna replace.

It's neck is the most comfortable I've ever used, and while not as comfortable as a strat while standing, it's good enough, and is a dream while sitting.

(Also the sound. The goddamn AMAZING sound)

I am definitely getting this guitar, but I'm unsure on what amp i should choose. Any ideas?

I wish they make trapezoid inlay version. Instead of the dot

Been debating this Vs gretsch g2622 hollowbody such a tough choice (of which one to get first) I feel this epiphone just has a bit more personality and sound feels a more fuller sound, taken months to decide but I will be buying this very soon ❤ thankyou

I wish they would do a block inlay and headstock inlay model as they just look so bog standard

Does the neck run through the body as a single piece or is it hollow once the neck meets the body?

I don’t know if this was in depth enough to call it a review, more like a long commercial. But, there is something about these guitars that just grabs you, once you get past any quality control issues. The Sweet Spots make you go, Oh! Cool! It would be nice if they brought back the Ultra or at least offer some of the options like the tuner on the bridge pickup, maybe for a few dollars more.
