A bird's eye view of JavaScript

This video is an extract form an online lecture from a course called 'JavaScript for visual Learners' I am currently putting together.

We will discuss:
-JavaScript is the de facto language of the web
-It is dynamically typed, weakly typed and Just-in-time Complied (JIT)
-It is used on the front end and the back end
-Changes to the language have to be backward compatible
-It has evolved into a powerful general-purpose programming language

We will use several metaphors to illustrate some of the presented concepts.
