Jade! This is late in the game but I came across this video and it’s exactly what I knew homeschooling to be…HARD! But you did amazing and I love your recap in the end. This is about learning and picking up on their strengths and what works and that is priceless! This inspired me to try elements of homeschool while Saga is home 🙏🏾✨ Thank you for this video!

I love that she is keeping it real. She is not just showing the calmness but the chaos too. And she is still staying calmed with the kids. God bless your family.

Im so glad someone has admitted it because there was definitely a learning curve for my children and myself. Congratulations on the new bundle of joy. I have watched you go from single to married with an entire family. It has been beautiful to watch your transformation!!

I’m new here. I’m a certified teacher and I love how honest you were. It’s okay for it to take awhile to get in the groove. In the traditional setting, teachers spend about two weeks just going over rules and procedures. This video was awesome. Thank you for sharing. I also love your classroom environment. I can’t wait to homeschool my babies.

Homeschooling is great but presents challenges. Maybe you can use some videos to teach some of the lessons like days of the week, months of the year with music that kids love. And maybe teach on the rug sitting with the children. They are very young and desks might be something you work up to as they get a little older. Children all have different learning styles. Maybe work with each child individually to assess/identify their style so that you will know how to work with each one. Also girls and boys may have different learning needs. There’s tons of free resources on YouTube!

I absolutely love this. This puts into perspective the realness of schooling while there are other little hearts that need their fill as well. Good job mama, so encouraging. Keep it up ❤

Best advice, and you’ll probably hear it again and again, don’t bring “school” home lol. If that makes sense lol. In other words don’t try to make home like traditional school. Homeschooling is waaayyyy different. I’m in my 3rd year homeschooling and we’re just getting our rhythm down. Don’t feel discouraged if it’s not going how you envisioned. Social media will make it seem like it’s just peaches and the kids sit and listen everyday lol. Especially in the younger years they should ideally only need about 15 minutes a day or less of formal instruction and some kids might not even be fully ready. But just 10-15 minutes a day is pretty average for a young child or toddler. But every kid is diffferent. But if you find yourself frustrated or your kids frustrated, you have the FREEDOM to make lessons as short or long as needed. These years are soooo much fun! Looking back I wish I didn’t care so much about curriculums and worrying if they were learning enough. They are! And these years are fun, and should be filled with lots of outdoor play, play dates, life learning, and did I mention play!? Lol god bless you on this journey!

As a homeschooling mama of 4 (6, 4, 3 and newborn) .... this is EXACTLY how it goes girl. I smiled so hard watching this because I don't think anyone who hasn't gone through it can understand. The interruptions!! My goodness the interruptions. Some days it seems impossible to hold a thought. At the end of the day, it's worth it. And you are already doing a phenomenal job. Stay strong!

As a homeschooling mother with a toddler I can tell you, you're doing a wonderful job!! I appreciate the transparency in your videos. Although everyday is not a walk through the park, it is such a privilege and a blessing from the Lord to be able to stay home with our babies. 🙏🏼 you are doing an amazing job and your family is so blessed 🙌🏼

Hi Jade, 32 year home educator of 9 here……you’re doing AWESOME!! My suggestions are to focus on the eldest one first. The younger ones will pick up what they’re ready for. Reading aloud at set times during your day helps build and structure your day….so, set times of right after breakfast, lunch (right before nap), and after dinner before bedtime…..will set a rhythm to your, sometimes, really long days. Your reading can all encompass Bible teaching or you can set each reading to a different subject, like Bible, science, and history…etc. Focus on the joy of being WITH them and not the progress they’re making. YOUR joy will empower them! It shows them that learning is EXCITING!! I would severely limit any screen time so they look forward to the information coming in from the readings you’re doing. They’ll get so excited when it’s read aloud time. Too much screen time takes away the joy of hearing the spoken word without visual stimulation. Lots of hugs, holding, kisses and affirming words for their curiosity and effort are what these years are about. If the curriculum is stressful, put it away and focus on getting them fed and Bible during these young years. If we got those two in, we had a great day!! They’re all grown up now and these memories are what I hold close to my heart as some of the very BEDT days of my life!!! Enjoy this journey….Because it’s YOURS, too! Much love, Jade❤❤❤❤

I’m a home schooling mom and it is truly no joke. This is my second year and I am teaching prek, kindergarten, 3rd grad and my autistic child . All you can really do is take it one day at time . I def found that games and crafts help a ton when it comes to keeping them excited and engaged ❤ This year I’ll be doing more field trips and outdoor exploring

Thank you for showing the hard parts! It's real! Typically I prioritize getting outside in the am they get the energy out we explore maybe go to places like the soo etc and then when we get in we have lunch and then structured school work after that I give a mix of hands on activities 1 hr of a show/movie. I'm also using good and the beautiful

Thank you for normalizing my experience of a first time homeschooler. I've only watched a few minutes so far, but i want to say thank you for sticking with it, hugs ❤️❤️ We're using The Good and the Beautiful (will arrive on Friday) and Playing Preschool 2 (started this week). I definitely had to adjust to my son- using a timer and giving little movement breaks helped me so far 🤷🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️
