I would still contact Fairyloot if I was in your shoes. I would be so disappointed to receive damaged books after paying so much for them and waiting so long to receive them.
I know Illumicrate always holds on to sets of books so that even when they sell out they can still replace the sets that arrive damaged to their costumers. Could be worth a shot.

Retailers usually keep hold backs specifically for issues like your fairyloot books. I would contact them. You are not being picky.

I just bought The Warden too :) I heard it is not a great start to the series but that one should keep going because the second book is amazing. We'll see :) Anne of Green Gables is the best

Naked hardbacks (so hardbacks without a dustjackets) should be done a lot more in English publishing! Neither the UK nor the US do them a lot, but in other countries they're very popular and there's lots of them. I lived in Sweden and there's a lot of naked hardbacks there.

I always can't help but judge a book by its cover too. Like Laini Taylor's book covers are hideous (a teen with a masquerade mask and amateur-looking photoshopped colours) and I might have bought them if they had a cover like the Court of Miracles, lol!

Its definitely not you being picky you pay for something ot shouldn't have damage. Fairyloot are notorious for sending damaged books and you can tell it didn't happen while they were being shipped
