I’m a massive foreman fan. But Schultz won this. George just couldn’t handle Schultz pace the whole fight. George was gifted this fight but was robbed himself against Shannon briggs. A peak Shannon briggs who George battered for 12 rounds and lost a disgraceful decision in George’s last ever fight.

George looked very tired, especially from the start of the match

Ok Schulz landed more shots but people forgot:
George was 46 and without the fire of the Holyfield/ Moorer matches
Schulz run and never land bigger shots
The young Foreman would eat Schulz alive

After the Hagler hearnsfight I started looking at sports differently then this fight sealed the deal and I knew it was all about entertainment. No way did George win this fight

Schade!
Aber er ist trotzdem ein netter Kerl.

Yeah this was a pretty bad decision! Schulz deserved this one!

I read somewhere-and where I can’t remember-that Foreman basically…..”gifted”…a person or persons of importance a fairly large sum of money in order to help ensure that he’d be on the winning end of this decision. I don’t know if it’s true or not; I’m sure Foreman would say it’s not. Regardless of who says what, I will say that the scorecards were a bit fishy.

If Boxing is all about who is popular. then let it be for the popular alone, G. Foreman lost this fight fair and square, Its a pure shit for the judges to give this fight to Foreman. Alex was robbed that even Foreman himself was ashame to celebrate his fake win,

I am not a big fan of stripping guys of their titles but after hand-picking this kid and then dodging the mandated rematch, George made it clear he had no intention of defending his championship.

Habe den Boxkampf damals komplett gesehen und aufgenommen. Schulz war nicht in der Lage Foreman richtig zu stellen. Aus Mitleid hat ihm Foreman später den Gürtel gegeben. 🤣🤣🤣

It's a myth. In no way shape or form did Schulz deserve the win. I viewed a high-quality tape of the entire fight in the slowest motion setting with the volume turned off. That way I didn't have to listen to commentators Gil Clancy and Jim Lampley rave in awe for all those shots by Schulz that did not find their target. For the record, I had Foreman clearly winning rounds 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, and 11. 115/113 just as two of the three judges scored it. Even Larry Merchant, who had poked fun at George in the past, especially in the Holyfield and Alex Stewart fights, the former of which he called a "massacre" by Holyfield and the latter a "one point" win for Stewart had George winning here. Just because Schulz, an unknown, given little to no chance of winning and exceeded expectations does not mean he deserved to win. All that grappling and grunting by Schulz in close does not make his offense more effective. Foreman frequently drove Axel back with those jabs. Schulz spent much of the fight circling and back-peddling. He was largely ineffective having to throw from a distance so when he did manage to land his punches lacked effect as they barely made contact. Foreman landed the more authoritative punches with solid jabs, body shots, and the occasional but very effective uppercut.

Clearly, its a popularity contest. They gave the win to the smiling fan favorite, George.

Foreman called Schulz a "Tasmanian Devil". If you don't know what that means watch a documentary about these animals. 😊

I think Shultz did enough to beat the champion.

Schultz did too much running.. backing up etc...
I still think he won but he should have fought more.
