I experienced a similar landing recently and someone suggested the pilot was former Navy and still landed like he was on an aircraft carrier.

I had a similar experience on a Ryanair flight from Stansted to Ouarzazate (Morocco) in February. We were on a nice, smooth descent, when all of a sudden, we seemed to drop like a stone onto the runway. They then hit the brakes so hard that books, magazines, and mobile phones were sliding up the aisle to the front of the plane! My theory was that they wanted to make the nearest runway exit so they could get to the terminal ASAP and avoid a long taxi back from the far end of the runway!

Worst ever landing I've experienced was from Newcastle to menorca last year, we hit the runway with such an impact that 90% of overhead lockers opened and luckily only a few loose bags fell out due to most lockers being jammed packed.

Damn Steve, that was a smackdown to remember! My worst one was on a Ryanair flight to Luton, the pilots bounced the landing!

I've had the complete opposite of that. A BA flight was so smooth that I only realised we were down was when we started to brake!
