The star veil's actually worse for no attacking runs because the increased I-frames mean a larger delay between hits, which means less star cloak stars, which means less damage.
If you want my recommendation, it would be to make bee cloak instead - which is, probably the first time you've ever heard someone say that unironically.

Early game should've been easier specifically against eater of worlds if you remembered about "tesla potions" because that literally nullifies ALL of the vile spit projectiles(if it isn't changed to be undeflectable by attacks)
