Now show the list of all the people who unwisely invested in businesses that went down the drain taking all that money with them

"Wait, kid!" That part cracked me up. No actual parent would talk to their child like this, or at least they shouldn't be lol. 😂

If she bought the Barbie, it probably could be sold as a antique Barbie by now

This is solid advice. Invest. But you should definitely always have some cash in your bank for emergencies. Medical, car trouble, etcetc.

Worked at a BK in high school and bought savings bonds with every pay check. They paid 6% back then. Paid for college with them. I think the main benefit of them was that my money wasnt easily accessible like a savings account so it was difficult to spend on a whim.

You are so sweet. You are so smart and positive. Everyday I feel bad but when you get on my FYP you make me so happy, ignore the haters and make more people happy!

never let them know your next move: dont deposit the cash in your savings account and just keep it in a envelope. it wont lose value then

Things that I didn't know and no one ever taught me --- I'm SO excited, after all of my long years, to finally become financially literate, wise and responsible. It's NEVER too late to start and learn. Thank you, Ms. Erika! 🙏🙌👍🥰😊

just pointing out something that may be confusing,

10000$ invested in a savings accounts will remain 10000$ (plus minimal interest) after 25 years.

but the "purchasing power" of that money decreases. because of "inflation", produce is more expensive over time (gas/food/real estate tends to increase in price) which means you can buy less.

And that’s why instead of her dad giving her $100 he SHOULD have given her $10, 000 🤦‍♂️

if you invest money you could also lose it btw. Saving doesn't bring money down because of inflation. My mom was investing money but lost it a couple of years ago
