The 1998 film had a lot more chaos, including fire. And the matchmaker was a lot more subtle here but it still sent the same message. In the 1998 version, the matchmaker screamed. Here, she was firm but was still very angry.

1998: You are a disgrace! You may look like a bride, but you will never bring your family honor!
2020: Dishonor to the Hua family! They have failed to raise a good daughter!

I think Mulan should've said "Just being a good sister, she's afraid of spiders, so I captured 1 crawling on the table, Madam Matchmaker". Then the matchmaker will cover her hand with a cloth and help to squash it, "Remove the teapot when I tell u".

To those comparing the earlier film, they still could've done it the same way in live-action. _The Mask_ has even *crazier* scenes, and that came out in 1994.
