A South Carolina woman spent a night in jail because she allegedly failed to return a VHS movie rented nine years ago.

Police say Kayla Michelle Finley, 27, rented a VHS copy of the Jennifer Lopez movie Monster-in-Law in 2005 and never returned it.

Dalton's Videos in Pickens County has since closed, but several years ago the store's owner requested an arrest warrant. Police clame several letters were sent about the warrant but the wood-be criminal never went to police.

Finley was arrested for a misdemeanor on Thursday when she attended the sheriff's station on another matter and spent the night in jail waiting for a bail hearing.

Finley posted on social media that she had moved out of state, forgotten about the tape and hadn't received any letters from the sheriff's office.

"I'm no criminal," she wrote.

It's not known if she liked the movie, or if she remembered to rewind the tape.

I loved that movie. But not enough to go to jail for.
