Orchid Updates - Filmed Over Several Days

Some clips filmed over several days during watering.
There are some orchid updates including the holey clay pots, a chat about Dendrobium nobile type hybrids approaching Autumn/Winter, and some other orchids with changes.

Some great info in this video, now that I've got around to watching. I'm usually awake very early 4-5am so watching is typically a ritual of your videos and getting my coffee going and then off to give my orchids their morning mist or water.

Thanks for the video Roger...i need to figure out how to do one of these update videos...since my last there's been major changes..funny how an increase of heat and humidity at the end of the grow season bulks the plant up..storing that energy you are talking about...I'm very excited of the what's coming up as by the looks of your update, you are as well....all those Catts laying in wait(sheath) Good stuff. Hey Roger, I enjoyed this update and seeing how your collection progresses throughout the grow season, thank you. I’ve got that same plant from Ecuagenera, and just cause I know you’re a stickler for details and you might’ve just shortened it for the tag. But the full name is Laelia purpurata var vinicolor x atropurpurea. Thanks for sharing ;)

I love your vids; so educational. Thanks much. This made me chuckle: "...2.5 foot circle by 1 meter high"... I love the code mixing (perhaps a tad jealous of it, even! :) ). I'm trying to ingrain the metric system now. Years and years (and years!) ago when I was in the 7th grade, the US was seriously considering adopting the metric system, but it all petered out. Shame, really.

I heard you and my ears rang!!! Lmao 😂 I have the same issue with media staying wet at the bottom and dry on top. So frustrating but I think I will make two mixes of media and for bottom I will use bark, perlite and charcoal and top mix moss with it.

I never pay much attention to the"rule" on stopping water or fertilizer. Never made sense to me. If the orchid still has new growth, feed and water the thing! If it goes dormant early, don't!
