this pronunciation is laminal.... if you want to hear a real apical voiceless alveolar fricative listen to the /s/ in the spanish of Madrid or northern Spain in general

It sounds too mildly apical. But in "stand" it sounds laminal.

I am afraid this is wrong: it is pronounced as laminal.

This says to be apical, but the apex does not touch anything, and if it did, it would me more likely to touch the back part of the front teeth (dental). It's so confusing.

This does not sound apical alveolar like the Castilian, Bogota or La Paz "s". This sounds palatal

Hmm, it sounds like regular “s” I pronounce..?

So, I've been aware of a weird sound I've been making while pronouncing a sounds. I feel my tongue touches the roof of my mouth, but the blade and tip are braced against the bottom front teeth and as a result it almost sounds like a lisp. What is occurring and how can I correct it?

It’s laminal. English s is not apical.
