When I was young I used to exhibit all of those traits. I've had about 4 serious crushes in my lifetime and none of them led to anything romantic. It's a cute and innocent concept when you're under 21 but me being at my early 30s, it's a sign of weakness. I can't fault younger people having crushes. Back then when people still believed in love.

My crush invited me to a Christmas party. I was thinking of asking her out at the Christmas party because I was pretty sure she liked me too but got too nervous. Later on at the Christmas party it was getting sort of late so we decided to watch a movie. My crush and a boy were laying on the couch together. I thought that it was safe to leave them alone because she had said they had been friends for over six years. They consistently started getting closer to each other on the couch until eventually they my crush was laying down with her head on his chest and they were cuddling. I was just sitting down next to them on the floor crying on the inside. I had to watch him ask her out and watch her say yes. I had to spend like an hour of torture listening to them cuddling.
Another sad part is that the kid that asked her out is like the exact same person as me (when it comes to personality).
I have tried to turn this experience into a learning opportunity for me. I tried to learn that there are plenty of fish in the sea (even though im sure there are not much like her :(. I also am thinking of her as "i do not really have any future with her and if I ever get the chance at all to ask her out I will."

Also I like to look back on the situation and laugh at myself for how unlucky I am.

Please help, this makes me pretty sad.
