As someone who is working in Aldi's purchasing department I feel sort of ashamed for the product itself but more so happy about the 27 different stages of emotions it gave you 😄

Side note, I respect that James doesn’t use this channel to promote his own coffee. However, I tried his red brick espresso for the first time today and it was so amazing I immediately ordered more!

3:35 to see the five stages of grief, plus like 9 new stages that are specifically reserved for James when he tastes coffee-flavored products. It's like shrimp colors but for pain.

One of our baristas once came up with a signature "beverage" of a double espresso of a lightly roasted honey-processed Costa Rican coffee, a slice of a very particular parmesan cheese, and a small dish of a strong floral honey... Honestly the whole thing was genuinely delicious, probably because the three elements were all quite strong and happened to have quite complementary flavours.

Aldi product development: “We’re having trouble selling any of our wet martini cheese.”
Aldi marketing: “Right. Just put some espresso in it. And maybe some butterscotch crisp pieces.”
Aldi product development: “Why.”
Aldi marketing: “Because if you do, a fancy British man will sell it for us.”

James Hoffman torturing his refined palate with serious and absurd determination is one of my favorite genres.

Aldi is 100% just trolling James at this point and loving it.

I feel privileged to be eating normal cheddar while he is subjecting himself to this

"The most delicious of all the caramels." Beautiful throwaway line...

Thanks, James. Received my bag of coffee with the beautiful card inside today. And yes, I did share it with a friend (actually gave him the entire bag since I currently don't have any brewing equipment due to recently moving to my current country of residence).

“Now I don’t get to keep this cheese. I will be giving it away to one of my Patreon supporters. They are the ones that fund me to buy these stuff and enable me to give you an honest opinion.”

As a Patreon supporter James, I am very upset that one of us will not be getting the chance to get this cheese.

In Finland there is a coffee-cheese pairing that is actually works! Bits of a roasted fresh cheese called leipäjuusto (a direct translation would be bread cheese, people like to call it squeaky cheese because, well, it’s squeaky) are softened up in coffee so they become soft, warm and taste a bit like coffee. It sounds a bit suspicious but it’s quite pleasant and tasty!

"It's not hard. It's not soft. It's just wet." A damp dirty tasting cheese, this is a public service warning.

James, you have got to have the highest self-esteem of any Youtuber. If I put myself through some of the stuff you do to yourself I'd have died of anxiety years ago. Thanks for being such a resilient Youtuber!

In Minas Gerais (Brazil), we typically drink coffee with cheese or pão-de-queijo (cheese bread) in the afternoon. It is usually paired with Minas cheese (a milder Comté-style cheese with no crust) and honestly the pairing is absolutely great. The cheese is not overpowering, so the delicate acid and savory notes compliment certain filter-style roasts really well. In fact, in São Paulo there is a café called Coffee Lab where they make some coffee tasting experiments, one of which is pairing a cup of a light roasted fruity Brazilian coffee in a v60 with both chocolate and Minas cheese. The extent to which the cheese pumps up the flavor and aroma of the coffee is seriously astonishing.

I have watched this video over and over again (almost daily since it came out). I love it so much.
Huge props for making it all the way through without saying "moist" even once, by the way.

when using an opinel, always secure the blade by turning the metal ring, so the blade can't flip back and potentially injure the user. As a french man, this video is hilarious. Praise all the gods for your sacrifice! Well done!

In Finland we have something called leipäjuusto, leipä=bread juusto=cheese, it is very mild. It is made by making the cheese curd, draining it and then flattening it on a board in a circular blob and then roasting it on a open fire. Most commonly it is served as is with cloudberry jam, but there are couple other ways to prepare it, one being cut into small cubes and put into coffee. The coffee can be sweetened and have a bit of milk in it, the coffee is drank first and then the leipäjuusto is eaten. Leipäjuusto does not melt, it softens.
I have heard leipäjuusto be called squeaky cheese, because it squeaks when chewed.
just a side note leipäjuusto is not same as juustoleipä, juustoleipä is bread with cheese on top of it or a cheese sandwich.
