It's amazing how the the conversation is revolving around student loan forgiveness but yet nothing is being said about the predatory student loan practices and the unnecessary inflation of tuition

Exactly. If Alexandria is so concerned about high tuition why doesn't she go after tenured professors who make thousands of dollars to teach one or two classes? What about administrative positions like "Diversity Equity Officer" that don't do anything but complain about racism they can't substantiate to collect a paycheck?

Notice it's never about removing inefficiencies but printing money to throw at problems.

I think student debt should be backed by the university's trust fund from which the junk degree was "earned".

2 people I knew with same degrees as me had 40k and 65k in debt when we were graduating because they didn’t work during college and both bought cars with student loans. I drove a $700 car and worked through college so I graduated without debt.

What College professors and administrators rake in would knock your socks off not to mention the pensions. The school systems support the politicians who support this rip off. Illinois is a great example of this corrupt system, deeply in debt and will never get out.

No cap on loans. No loan forgiveness. in other words: You borrowed the money. You pay it back. Not with my money .

Until the public starts demanding accountability there will be none.

My aunt worked as Director of Finance for a University. When she retired, she had nine houses that she rented out. Took her entire family including kids and grandskids on vacations every year all over the world and paid for it all. Had one heck of a nice house herself, about 4, 000 sq ft in gated community. Nice cars, nice clothes, nice everything. Got a nice pension and other benefits as well. If you went to that University, you paid for it. She was a die-hard leftist liberal. Get a few drinks in her and ask the right questions, she would tell you all about the BS. These people working at these colleges live in their own world folks. Time to change that. Unless you are going to be a doctor, attorney, engineer, scientist, or specific profession requiring college, you are just pissing away your money.

Most people don’t value what they get for free - if you have to work for it you appreciate what you worked for

Why? Let their parents pay, it's their children... If they want a payout I want something in return. I'm not paying taxes to help their kids, no one helps me. ..!.. anyone who would even consider this.

I was going to school after getting out of the military in the early 70s and I had to PAY for mine. They should too

The problem is the “Price” of higher education that has risen exponentially above the actual “cost” of which both are highly inflated and has left most institutions with billions in endowments and highly overpaid instructors & administrators.

the "problem" can be easily solved.
make universities and collages responsible for the loan to students who want to come to that institution.
it would force institutions of learning to re-evaluate the education they are giving.
if the education is so poor the student cannot get a job ... the institution should absorb the cost.

How about refunding the SSA with the money that Congress took? The money that I've been paying into my entire life.

I graduated college in 1981 with an accounting degree (BBA). Took me 12 years to payoff my student loans. My daughter is now a Senior at APP STATE. My wife and i worked our butts off to pay her college tuition, rent, etc. You are exactly right. Going to a 4 year party and realizing now you gotta pay. Get secind and third jobs like we did and get off your lazy butts. Joe's buying votes plain and simple.

I remember when classes were set up to educate the new students about how credit works on a credit card. Card companies set up on campus and were "Throwing" credit cards at the new students coming in. Should we wipe out mortgage debt too? If so, I am going to go buy a $500, 000 house next week.

Do the auto mechanics, carpenters, painters, plumbers, farmers, and other "like" but
non-Woke workers get
$50, 000 of their expenses in starting those businesses “forgiven" as well?
Or should we just add a
clause to the college loan
"Forgiveness Program" that the taxpayers become stockholders in the future earnings of those “forgiven” who they
"invested" their tax dollars in????

I’ve worked since I was 13, and it broke my heart to tell my daughter I couldn’t afford to send her to college. But y’all want me to help pay for someone elses kid’s

You accept the debt you pay it off, others shouldn't have to pay for debt they didn't sign up for.
