Biden got several minutes of emotional, standing ovation here in Chicago - Democrats cheering his dedication and surely also his decision to pass the baton to Kamala Harris.

He praised his vice-president as the best hope to protect American democracy, as he laid out his own achievements in office and laid in - to Donald Trump.
