I Was Wrong About Cluster Munitions

Based on Information from the International Legion and from the Wall Street Journal, it looks like the Ukraine is Using DPICM to for counterbattery fire and attacking troops in the open. I got that one wrong.
The GIF shown in the video was of an F-16 dropping cluster munitions in a controlled test.

They have started breaking them open for drone munitions. I have seen video of one of the units fitting fins to the bomblets. You were right about that.

To be fair, it was a reasonable assumption given the prevalent use of drones there. However the Ukrainians hadn’t signed the Convention on Cluster Munitions and the Russians had been using them since Feb 2014, so lots of incentives to use them as originally designed.

To be pedantic though, not every artillery-fired cluster munition is a DPICM. As an example, the ADAM mine.

Problem is, in a way you didn't get it wrong. There is a different cluster munition I heard about couple days ago that Ukraine is wanting....but they are wanting to break that apart to drop the bomblets from drones....this particular munition they are not getting yet.
