I love my library! I just get giddy when I go there. I am happy to see you like to escape to yours also! Great choices!

I love how you shared what you got for your daughters as well. I’m always looking for books for my 4 kiddos.

Thank you for taking us to the library with you! Your library is so nice, wide open, bright and inviting! That Meg Cabot book sounds wonderful, I need to get a copy! I'm planning on trying to get some good reading time in this weekend, as it's so cold and rainy here in Florida, yep, we get winter weather too, just no snow, but it looks like it could snow if it was just a wee bit colder! Hope you are staying warm!! 🙂💖📚

Those terrazzo floors in the Library lobby are stunning. They just restored the Brooklyn Public Main Library and thankfully replaced and updated the terrazzo floors since they were about 100 years old.

Just stumbled across this video and loved it! I love going to libraries and even seeing others through the video screen. I, too, paused the video to look at the titles to see if I could see anything that would interest me! LOL! Libraries always feel like home to me and books friends. I hope you do more of these! I read "Starfish" and loved it. It's sad, but hopeful. I'm a grown woman, but like reading all kinds of books like you do. Kids, YA, adult. You never know where you will find a good book and a treasure is a treasure no matter what genre and level it is! I still reread "The Westing Game" all the time and that was a childhood fave of mine.

Starfish is so good! I listened on audiobook and loved it. It’s both heartbreaking and hopeful.
Bluebird sounds so good!

Your daughter might like Owl Diaries or Unicorn Diaries. I am a elementary librarian, and have second graders who love these!

To help your little girl with her reading ask her comprehension questions after every page. We call them the 5 W’s Who, What, When, Where, Why. That would be Who is the story about? What happened in the story? When did the story happened? Where did the story happened? Why did it happened? This will help her understand what she is reading.

I also love picture books. Check out Katy Hudson's books. They are precious. The grand babies love them too.

Great choices! I loved Starfish. I had the pleasure of attending a Zoom session at my school librarian professional conference with the author. She was a joy to interact with.

Starfish has been a favorite of mine and my coworkers at my library. I would recommend Brave like that by Lindsey Stoddard, Strays like Us by Cecilia Galante, and Tiffany Sly lives here now by Dana Davis. I'm reading Storm Warning by Elizabeth Raum about flooding in Grand Forks North Dakota. What books does she like? I find titles through Novelist and Literature Map wesites.

Monday will be the big American Library Association Children’s book awards announcements, I think Watercress has a chance for being a Caldecott and Starfish is a buzz for possible Newbery.

I also have a 2nd grader struggling to read who has memorized all the Gerald and Piggie books... My son prefers I read to him but will read the Fly Guy books and Dogman graphic novels on his own.

Hi Amanda! I hope you enjoy all your books😊. I have to go to the library tonight to pick up The Life We Bury and The Guncle . Thanks Lindsey! lol. I will never get the books on my shelves read at this pace! I’m still working on Obsidio (the last in the Illuminae trilogy) and that’s from the library too!

This time of year is all about fun, fluff and cozy mysteries for me. Something happy to combat the gray winter days. I’ll save the in-depth reads for early spring. Thanks for the library visit. I’m undergoing three weeks of radiation treatments and am self-isolating until these daily sessions are over at the end of January. My prognosis for a full recovery is extremely good, for which I am beyond grateful! Getting to see the inside of a library, even on my computer screen, was an unexpected pleasure. I’m interested in reading the last two adult books you picked up. They sound perfect for my current mood! I’m sorry, but I have no recommendations at the current time.

That was such a fun video! I love seeing other people's library spaces. My library to me is such a relaxing place. I actually stopped the video at one point so I could browse the titles on the shelves. I placed a hold at my library on the children's book The Gilded Girls, that I saw in this video. Thanks for taking us along!!
