So ik in the goblin party scene he's more afriad of you and doing his absolute best to win you over but he sounds so like his earnest, silly, 'i dont know what im actually doing' self. Like in that split moment, the tension of his fears eases because you cracked a joke/tease. While the tiefling one sounds like he's ACTUALLY offended and trying to cover up his hurt feelings that maybe he really WASNT that good and hes not sure how else to get a good person like us on his side if he sucks at the one thing he thinks he should be good at

One of the alternate dialogues (option 2 after saying not staying for a cuddle) is essentially “are you alright? It didn’t feel like you were really there” which alludes to his dissociating a lot more than the teasing answer. He responds in a similar way, just without the “how dare you!” but it makes the follow up of him saying he was holding back sound a lot more like an excuse to cover up his vulnerability rather than him being his playful and dramatic self.
The level of approval you have with him also changes how he approaches you at the start. Medium he’s forcing a smile, high his smile is more genuine, very high+ he’s genuinely happy that you’re there. I also think that if you allow him to bite you during the scene, you can see the moment he realises he actually /likes/ you, that his little plan is falling apart and that he can trust you. It’s after the moment of shock/fear of you pushing him over, how he has the most gentle expression. It also puts another spin on his excuse for “holding back”, in the sense that he couldn’t bring himself to treat you like the ones he’d taken back to Cazador, and if he allowed himself to really give in to what /he/ wants, that would mean being vulnerable and that terrifies him. It’s why he has his back to Tav/Durge the entire time. It’s the first time we see real pain and sadness from him, but our character doesn’t.

I really appreciate they did this twice, would've been so easy to just use the same take for both scenes and just change the lighting

Poor dude just brushing off how he had to force himself through it all and acting like yes of course I'm amazing, just trying not to hurt *you* and hastily slipping his mask back on there (I wish we got more of a chance to reprise this, but with just cuddling beyond the one we got)

I like that saving the tieflings has you stay until morning. Ending the 'party' earlier at night did make him seem a little nervous. I got that in my first playthrough and I thought he was not interested enough so I almost drop romancing him. 😭
