Snow DOES NOT Cancel Schools in Missoula Montana

We have had 1 closed snow day so far this winter for being -45; colder with wind chill. We had frozen pipes, snow drifting, and freezing rain which lasted about 4 days - other than that, our winter has been mild so far.

Kids go outside for recess. Indoor recess only when it's below 0.

Be aware, Montana schools don't close as frequently as they do on the East Coast.

its not the sideways snow at 30mph, and its not when the snow isnt snow, its frozen knife shaped droplets that cut your children as they approach the bus, and its not the mirror smooth ice that layers the roads, so slick it makes a booger in a door jamb seem like grip tape by comparison, its not the mud thats so deep it will swallow your Subaru, and its not the hail that pummels the heartiest souls so harshly the victims are commonly too frightened to leave their homes in springtime, and its not the rattlesnakes, the rootin tootin gun folks, the drunk drivers or the state of the roads in general...its the massive and thoroughly destructive wildfires that choke the air and make ash of neighborhoods..thats what will get you, so move somewhere else.
