Love your message today Jen. I very much needed your reminder of the power we all have over our own lives today. Your honesty about your own challenges is so inspiring and gives me courage to make some choices in my own busy life. Thanks Jen!

The most aging thing of all is blue eyeshadow, it’s been out of style for 40+ years. Also, lipliner, nude lipstick, under brow-highlight, false eyelashes, heavy black eyeliner and plucked eyebrows are very dated and aging. I can always tell if a woman my age, 61, hasn’t had a makeup update since our youth, say the 1970s-1980s.

You are absolutely right. I am so impressed with you in the way that you teach color. I taught color for many years and was born and was a very light golden blonde for many many years I am 77 years old now and has softened still having gold and blonde hair but not nearly as bright and it's softened and my eyes are softened but I still like the warm bright colors but I like the lighter colors now I cannot wear the darker colors nor can I wear the tomato red lipstick anymore either I must wear softer lipstick and makeup

Jen, thank you! This is very helpful color info for those of us in the more mature category. I have been fair with blonde hair all my life. I used to wear a lot of black but then retired it many moons ago for gray. Now that gray is weaving more and more through my hair, and my skin tone coloring is not as bright, many muted or pale colors I once wore now wash me out and do nothing to enhance me or my mood! This is particularly true for gray, and I have become rather adverse to it in the past couple of months. I am not of the white/black or bright silver-haired category of women who I think can look stunning in grays of all sorts. Instead, I have softer blonde plus gray hair. I agree with you that brighter colors truly do complement and help lift many mature complexions. And color is so important to lift one's mood!

I am 58, with light gray/silver hair. Once I went natural everything changed in terms of my best colors. I had warm/auburn hair, fair skin with a lot of pink, bright blue eyes. I was analyzed as a "summer" in the 80s. My veins are blue. Now, everything about me is light and "white". Pale muted colors are all wrong. Dark colors are awful. But the lightest, clear colors are wonderful. They do add brightness, as you say. Pale pastels and cream are beautiful. Less is more in makeup is right, with very natural and subtle lip and cheek colors. So you are totally right about these changes as we age. It is fun to discover what suits us NOW, rather than view ourselves through the filter of how we were in the past.

Great thoughts about the aging pallette...that's exactly where I am. Love that lipstick and blouse color on you! "Dare to be exactly who you are." Exxxxcellent. That would be a good slogan for your business :)

My grays just started slowly coming in, at age 61. So, I’m guessing I will color it until about age 70, I want it to be at least half gray before I go natural.

Jen - Love your channel, but as a fellow "analyst, " may I suggest a light coral lipstick? That rose pink is doing you no favors, and since this video is about colors that age you, I thought at first that's what you were trying to show.

I love your lipstick color ...It's very pretty on you.

I disagree, aging tends to make skin more yellowish.

I think wearing black is aging, but we all do it, including me, on whom it looks awful.

I guess I am a winter but I think I've got a neutral skin tone. Is it possible?
