On the 12th of April 2019 the trip started out in Wicor marine, situated deep inside Portsmouth Harbour. Leaving behind Portsmouth we sailed around the forts as we awaited for the tides to change to sneak into Bembridge harbour. After spending one night at this marina an early sunrise departure introduced the next day. We headed south past Bembridge RNLI station and tacked for a leisurely but wavy downwind sail and cruised by St Catherine's point before heading to the tip of the Isle of Wight - at the Needles. A trip to the Needles lighthouse quickly became too close for comfort after discovering Goose rock lying beneath the surface of the water. After this point we headed back into the Solent sailing passed Yarmouth and Lymington on a gusty pointing sail. We moved on passing Cowes and hustled through multiple different sail races, cutting through them on the choppy seas the solent had to offer that day. The head wind caused continuous tacking before finally reaching the mouth of Portsmouth harbour where we dropped our main sail and drifted down the small boat channel passing the spinnaker tower and a busy gosport Marina before finally reaching Wicor Marine for the finishing line.

The first voyage from Wicor Marine to Bembridge Harbour was roughly a 20 mile trip and took us around 5 hours.

Following this the trip from Bembridge to Wicormarine (the long way round) was roughly a 60 mile trip and took us 10 and a half hours.

The Yacht is a Hanse 345 built in 2012 named Tenacious!
