Did You Know In A BUG’S LIFE…

When Hopper is talking about the circle of life to Princess Atta, he says “the sun grows the food, the ants pick the food, the grasshoppers eat the food”. He is then cut off by his brother Molt saying "and the birds eat the grasshoppers”. This foreshadows Hopper’s death at the end of the film when being fed to the baby birds. The mention of the circle of life is also a nod to a song and line from Disney’s classic movie, The Lion King.

Hopper doesn’t know the circle of life as much as we do and it appears to me that he doesn’t care about the circle of life at all like we do. For what I learned from Mufasa that all creatures live together in the delicate balance and so we must treat them with respect because we are all connected in the great circle of life. And besides like Flik said “Ants are not meant to serve grasshoppers”.
